Over the weekend Arsenal routinely dismantled a withering Swansea side 4-0, although the win came with some luck.
Giroud put us ahead after shambolic Swansea defending, and in the second half Iwobi assisted two own goals that were both fortunate to beat helpless Fabianski. Alexis Sanchez took his goal well to give Arsenal a pleasing 4-0 score line.
The win was overshadowed by some papers by Alexis Sanchez’s sulking on the bench. While many, including Wenger, say this is out of disappointment of being subbed off I see it in a different light. Like many I think Sanchez’s head has been turned by China – and prospect of that money could bring to his family. When discussing China we must remember that players such as Costa and Sanchez have come from deprived South American backgrounds, and the chance of massive wages could change the communities they come from. I do think China is a threat, and that we will see more players leaving to Asia, especially those from African and South American backgrounds.
This win could set up a run that could keep our faint title chances alive. Chelsea for me are in prime position for the title, and I struggle to see Arsenal overhauling the gap set up.
